When it comes to Internet Marketing for beginners, there’s no better way to guarantee your success than by building a loyal, targeted database of opt-in subscribers.
Once you have a list you own it! Nobody can take it away from you. There aren’t too many other business assets you can say the same thing about. For most businesses, you can quickly see a dramatic turn in sales and/or profits (virtually overnight) if big competition happens to settle into your market. It happens everyday in every industry imaginable. Think about all those small grocery stores in all those small towns across the country… and think about what happened when Wal-Mart opened.
But once you build a list of “permission based” opt-in email subscribers… it doesn’t matter how much competition you have in your market. You’ve already built a rock solid foundation: A strong customer base eager and willing to hear from you over and over again.
You can provide periodic emails with your unbiased opinion about certain products you’ve used or recently discovered that might benefit them in some way. Of course, you’d have your affiliate link embedded in the offer just in case a few might want to purchase the product for themselves… CHING!
You can begin creating your own information products and offer them a discount for being a part of your list of loyal customers… CHING!
You can offer your services at a discounted rate for a limited time to subscribers only… CHING!
You can inform them about new promotional materials you have for your affiliates (who… by the way earn a percentage of all sales they generate) and if anyone is interested they can sign up and start promoting some of your products and services… CHING! CHING!
I hope you get the point I’m trying to make here. Don’t approach your list as simply a list of names only there to make you money. Develop a relationship with your list and truly work on helping them achieve their goals as well. I see too many people who email their list every single day and all they send them are offers to other products. How is someone supposed to find benefit in that? Provide some useful content as well. Add some personality too!
If you do, then chances are you’ll have a goldmine of opportunity at your disposal in no time. Simply put: just care a little! Do the right thing. Before you know it you will have a responsive, targeted list eager and willing to spend money with you at will.
Okay Erik, I get it… But how do I build a list?
Answer: With a Squeeze Page.
So what exactly is a squeeze page? What does it do? And why do you need one?
Well, a squeeze page is a page created specifically to capture leads.
Think about it like this: in “the real world” any time you interact with someone you always learn something about the person you are interacting with… it’s a two-way street. A handshake, a conversation, an exchange of business cards, whatever. It’s a two-way street.
On the Internet it’s very different.
If you don’t have a squeeze page that ‘prompts’ people to share a little something about themselves you are losing hundreds of business opportunities as people browse through your website and learn about YOU… without so much as leaving their name! You need a page that entices visitors to enter their name and Email Address and join your list.
The beauty is you can meet people through your squeeze page by simply inviting them to introduce themselves to you by leaving their name and email address. In return you give them something of value that can be downloaded instantly.

At one point in my life, I actually did contemplate looking for a weekend career to help support my family. I ultimately decided against it because the money that I would make on a part time basis did not come close to the value that I placed on spending real time with my family.Working the weekend jobs did not meet my literal criteria:- Would I be able to spend as much time as possible watching my children grow up?- Would working weekend jobs grow into something more where I would develop an additional skill set and ultimately become more marketable?- Was the money that I would make with these weekend jobs really worth my time?- Would I be able to leverage my time or would I be working simply dollars for hours?With a growing kin a mortgage, retirement, & funding our kids instruction were and continue to be our highest priorities funds wise. When I decided to find a way to make more payout, I weighted the pros & cons of starting an internet marketing business. Some of the questions that I asked myself included:- What type of initial investment would I want in order to be successful?Nearly all internet marketers begin out very simply with a few tools; wordpress blog, hosting account, autoresponder, and some basic sweat equity. As you make dough, you can add additional devices but these are the basic material to start and will cost you a few hundred dollars for the year.- When could I find time to work my organization?I thought about this and the best duration that I could work this in the opening was at night after my kids went down. It’s usually after 10 at night and I work a few hours. How do you perceive your online business? Is it something that you like to think about, or does it make you cringe when you hear the words “internet marketing”? Back in the day when I was first starting off with my internet business, whenever someone suggested a marketing strategy to do, I would do it, and then just sit back and watch for a few days to see if it worked or not.
Then after 3 days of waiting and not doing any other marketing technique, I was convinced that the technique didn’t work at all. I would then resort to pay per click advertising as a way to see instant results, but all I was doing is draining my money in this potentially profitable medium.
I can’t tell you how often I started with an online business idea and then would stop the idea because I thought it didn’t work. I guess I was just immature at the time, but now that I’ve failed so much and have grown as a person… I’m much more patient. So I’m willing to do strategies and techniques that were once thought of as “ineffective” in my business because I want to be in business for the long haul.
If you’re struggling in your online business, you need to be in it for the long haul. And being in it for the long haul means creating goals, and then taking action on these goals so that you can experience the sales and profits that you want in your business. Do you know how to set goals in your business? If not, then I want to share with you a few tips that you can start setting goals in your business today. Here’s the first tip:
1) Imagine success
This is a fundamental step that you need to be doing everyday in your business. Even if you were at the point where you were getting lots of sales, you should still imagine yourself becoming even more successful. This is very important if you want to experience large gains in your income.
Visualize yourself in a brand new car, beautiful home, a beautiful family, and an autopilot business. The more you can put your business on autopilot, the more you will profit because you gain more free time along with income – thereby setting your days up to be free while you’re off doing the things that you enjoy doing. Here’s another tip:
2) Stay positive
Even when things aren’t going your way, you have to keep pressing on. Think about it this way: If you do a free marketing strategy today, and it lands you 2 new email subscribers per day, wouldn’t you want to do it more so that you can boost that email subscriber count up to 50 per day?
Now you won’t get 50 subscribers right away strictly off of free marketing. If you wanted to get 50 subscribers per day, you would probably need a monthly advertising budget of around ,000 dollars. If you don’t have that kind of money to spend on advertising, then you will have to resort to free marketing. There’s nothing wrong with this – it will just take some time to build up your subscriber count with these numbers.

Example, Placing ads and paying the website that you link your ads to it would only cost you a little amount of money compared to the traffic and the benefits that pay per click can do for your website.
